As far as quality goes there is no comparison to GoPro HD.

1. The Chase Cam is standard resolution (no High Definition support!), where GoPro HD is full HD! As you can see in the above video where it is compared to a $4,700 Canon Pro Camcorder it does very well for its price point!

2. The GoPro HD can record in many different formats such as 720p, 960p and 1080p.

3. Along with that you can choose to record at 30fps or 60fps, Chase Cam only does 30fps I believe.

4. GoPro HD Motorsports retails for $299, Chase Cam package is $950. Plus if you buy from us you get the TS Package discount which everyone has been very happy with!! Please inquire!

5. GoPro wide angle view of 170 degrees blows away the Chase Cam at 120 degrees.

6. GoPro HD is much simpler to use. Chase Cam does give more options when it comes down to recording specific data, but most of us are casual road racers that just want to record how much fun we are having on the track or streets.

I have a Chase Cam setup - cost me over a grand.

If the GoPro is that good for under $300, I may have to consider it.

PM me the TS price please.

Actually the GoPro viewing angle drops to 120 degrees if you're shooting in 1080p, 170 is only for 720p and less.

This being said, I prefer 120 degrees, as too much wide angle just kills the "look" of corners, the road just looks endlessly straight.

Sending you a PM now, I'm considering picking up a GoPro ... unless a competitor comes up with some mindblowing shizzie before the spring (which I doubt will happen).

Some footage from my GoProHD. Don't really know whether it was in 720p or 1080p as it was the first time I used it.

Here's my old GoPro and a vid shot last summer:

^Well for starters, all I've ever used are GoPros so I really can't compare them to other cameras. However, when compared to the old GoPro the HD is far superior. I updated my last post so that you can compare the old GoPro to the HD version. I really like the new one, but I still feel that the audio quality is lacking.

*I've only used the HD once as I've had too much going on to get back out on track, but I plan to sit down and mess with it some time in the near future. Also, keep in mind that some of the HD's quality is lost so that the file can be uploaded to YouTube.

I haven't used any camera yet, but I'm liking the VIO POV 1.5 very much, although it is in a different price range (600$ or so).
Remote, screen, loop mode (ie continuously filming with a 30s buffer ... when you press record, you actually record the footage from 30s back), external mic. The optics are far superior too.
If only it came with HD ...
The videos I posted recently in the TS Euro Rally thread were shot using the VIO.

At the end of the day I'll probably pick a GoPro, see if I actually enjoy editing film and maybe upgrade from there.
