I really hope it's one of those "better in real-life" things. Porsches are typically not the most photogenic of cars (even the 911 in some angles can look awkward), but I don't think that's the problem with Panameras -- in any angle other than a front 3/4 view, the car looks hideous. They had such an opportunity to create a thing of beauty (i.e., Lambo Estoque) but screwed it up. And after screwing up the outside, they must have decided, "Hey, why stop with the exterior? Let's screw up the interior also! Woohoo!!!"

I would be willing to bet that the gen2 Panamera will keep the design philosophy but make it look much nicer, thereby making all gen1 owners upgrade.... Kinda like what they did with the Cayenne.
