I am with you, that was my first reaction when the pics surfaced. Even thou I have to give them credit for not putting the word HYBRID in bold and just putting KERS wich it is kinda easier to swallow.

May be my opinion will change after it will be tested, and the outcome will be that it still awesome and a pure supercar. But as for now I do not like it.
Don't worry because you are not alone, and I agree with you 100%. But, I already have been preparing my self to receive what is inevitable.
First the probability of next super cars to be in the traditional 6 speed manual gearbox... well they are slim and almost none existent.
Second I can already see how all of this will downplay. In less than we know it all of out favorite cars will be hybrid with an 2.6 V8 or so that will look like two bike engines bolted together, and a battery pack. And once we accept that, the all electric will come and we will all be praising that good old V8TT of an F40, the 12 cil ferrari, V10 CGT, etc.
I believe this is inevitable but will take time to get thru. The most sad thing to me is if we end up loosing that amazing sound in F1 races and things become more like the Mach 5 of Speed Racer. ( By the way I am referring to the electric engine of the movie, not the cartoon series)
