Ferrari shows New Customization Program Featuring Special California

At a secret event, Ferrari showed off it's new customization program to cater to the needs of those requiring the above and beyond. Our sources tell us we wouldn't believe the level of customizing that can now be ordered directly from the Italian coach-builder, basically a you dream it we build it program similar to what we have come to love from Porsche's exclusive department. The special Matte Blue California showcased is a one off created for Lapo Elkan, The New York–born heir to the Fiat fortune. More details and an official release from Ferrari is surely close behind.

Before everyone says how butt ugly that california is I think Ferrari is just flexing their muscles in showing all the things that can be done if you wanted. There are going to be some stunning cars built from this!

I remember having a long argument over on Fchat about whether or not they would ever go the way of Lambo and Porsche with customization programs. I always said yes and we would start to see more radical colors and ideas and Ferrari would start taking pages from the Lambo book on being "out there." I was hugely shot down as people all claimed Ferrari would always remain classy and people would should feel privileged to buy them not change them.

I wonder what kind of cars we will see come from this program and you can imagine it will be priced to the moon but I'm expecting a bunch of disgraces.

 

Great for all the customers from the Middle East! They are the only ones that could afford to do things like this.

 

Is that a Denim option? Well, if you have the means, it's your choice to make. Actually, Denim might work rather well in some cars, I just can't quite envision a Ferrari with it. Time will tell.

Lapo Elkan has the worst taste I've ever seen. That California is ruined. That being said, it's amazing what Ferrari can, and will, do to make their clients happy. I'm kinda digging that 458 actually.
