Specs on Factory 2010 GT3 Wheels

I had occasion recently to measure the factory OE centerlock wheels on the 2010 GT3. The wheels are cast aluminum and made in Italy. They are nicely done, but hefty. The front wheels weigh 23.5 lbs and the rear nearly 28 lbs. A little surprising given the cost and focus of the car.

The good news is that lucky GT3 owners can remove 25 lbs or more of unsprung weight by switching to a good quality forged wheel.
Something to look forward to, cause removing 25 lbs of unsprung weight will make a helluva difference in performance.

First I've read about the actual weight. Thanks for the info.
I thought Porsche advertised that they were forged and lighter than the outgoing design, but I guess not. Or I misremember.

I am shocked they are not forged. Perhaps the new Turbo centerlock is forged (usually BBS makes the Turbo wheels). It should fit (although it is 20").

That's some BS considering the marketing with making it a center lock and now it's now even a light weight wheel on a car that is all about light weight? Sometimes the people at Porsche have their head up their as$. I blame this development on the Piech's!!!!

The Turbo wheel will not fit on a non-RS GT3. Widebody vs narrow.

Even the wheels on the 997.1 GT3 were extremely heavy. Sucks to have to drop 10 k for a lightweight set.
