New teaser photos of BMW 1M
BMWblog tells us the next episode of BMW 1M begins tomorrow. According to our sources, more information will be revealed this week, but for now, some more teaser shots of the car being shown in Paris popped-up on the M-Power.com microsite.
Labeled by many as an enthusiast-oriented car, the BMW 1 Series M Coupe symbolizes the return of the M division to its core values: lightness, smaller size, incredible driving dynamics and pure connection between the driver and car.
Most of the details around the 1M Coupe remain a mystery. The unique orange metallic paint will be an exclusive color for the M car, and in Dr. Kay Segler’s words, “This paint will make history” and be remembered for its unique, stylish appeal, and according to our sources is Valencia Orange Metallic.
The new 1M Coupe’s track is much wider than that of the 135i. We believe the new 1M Coupe’s track may be as wide or even wider than found on the current M3, but in a smaller overall package. Power is rumored to be at least 345 horsepower produced with the help of a large, upgraded intercooler. Weight is rumored at 1,500 kg, but everyone hopes the official figure is lower. The new M will make its debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2011.
