Even more amazing is that his collection is apparently even better than what is seen in these pics as I cannot find his award winning Alfa Romeo.
Shirley's 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B won Best of Show at the 2008 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, pretty much the most famous and prestigious car show in the world.
