Bugatti ups the ante for their next hyper-car
Our trusty Teamspeed spies bring us a few glorious snapshots this morning! Meet the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Super Sport. The Grand Sport is as you might know the roadster version of the Veyron, and the Super Sport is the climax of the Veyron with its monstrous 1200 horsepower. And now the team behind Bugatti, with Wolfgang Durheimer at the helm, has combined those two models into a Veyron Grand Sport Super Sport as these photos show. As we can see the NACA air ducts that usually are on the Super Sport model have been changed for the normal Grand Sport air intakes due to the fact that the NACA air ducts will not work with the roof removed.
Bugatti boss Wolfgang Durheimer said some days ago that a more powerful version of the Grand Sport could be possible, but we guess he didn’t expect us to prove that with photos so quick. We expect pricing to be around the 2 million euro mark. Stay tuned for more details as soon as we get them!

The Veyron coupe production ended with last car oredered in June, its was SS for European customer. The coupe production will end soon enough when all cars ordered will be built.
GS is the main concern now for Bugatti, sales are way too slow from expected numbers, only about 35 cars are delivered and only few are on order now.
So back in May after huge success with SS Veyron, in fact there'll be 38 cars built instead of 30, Bugatti decided to boost GS sales to finish the production of the Veyron range in time.
The final specs will be not so mindblowing as SS coupe, but agressive design, more options and a bit more power is supposed to do the right job of boosting sales.

They should just focus on one model for the coupe, these variants is just an excuse to make more models under different variants.
ie F40, Enzo, F50, Carrera GT regardless of the quantities made for the Carrera GT but I mean solely on one model.

i assume the reason this still has the scoops that protrude up from the roof line is because when the roof is off, the air cant flow along the roof and into the scoops? (as in the ss has scoops that dont protrude up from the roofline)Is this right?

Agreed to some extent. I think the Veyron is a little different. I agree with the orignal and GS models. The SS is cool and a way to say 'F U' a bit louder. The Sport Gran Sport Super Sport, or SGSSS, is just unneeded and, in a way, diminishes the Veyron, if only ever so slightly, to me.

To be honest we don't officially know what it will be called but I do hope it will be a better title then what we have up now!
