Bugatti to add stablemate to 1,001hp Veyron supercar
Bugatti’s 16-cylinder, 1,001-horsepower Veyron may get a sibling as soon as 2011 or 2012, today’s reports allege. The exclusive brand’s CEO, Franz-Josef Paefgen, said Bugatti is considering adding an all-new model, unique in looks to the Veyron megacar.
“That newcomer must fit into the Bugatti history, but also to the Veyron. A totally different direction is not an option,” Paefgen told Autotelegraaf. Some earlier reports had Bugatti cancel its Project Lydia track-focused model, and build a four-door coupe instead.
As for the Veyron, Bugatti is trying to get its money’s worth, making nearly countless special editions, including the confirmed targa version, as well as the even more exclusive and costly Pur Sang, Fbg par Hermès and Sang Noir editions.
