Single is marketed as the better one; your choice might be different. I prefer Single, fwiw.

Single is certainly different than Gentleman's. GJ is filtered through the sugar maple charcoal twice, once after distilling and once after aging. This gives it that super smooooth taste. SB has higher alcohol content (94 Proof) and is hand chosen and bottled by one of JD's master distillers. I like GJ straight and SB with an ice cube. SB can be fun because no two bottles taste alike (unless you happen to come across two bottles from the same barrel). Also, you can go to the distillery and choose the barrel of JD that you like the most. For about $8500 they'll hand bottle the whole barrel and ship all 240 bottles plus the barrel to you.
